Commandments
The Commandments are not a list of burdens. They are the shape of a life ordered toward God and toward one another. Given first on Sinai and fulfilled in Christ, they teach us what love of God and love of neighbor look like when they become concrete.
To keep the Commandments is to walk in the freedom for which we were made — freedom from the false gods, the disordered desires, and the injuries we do to ourselves and to others. The moral life is the daily work of becoming the person Christ already sees in us.
